I
currently work as a psychotherapist, counsellor, career counselor, supervisor
and trainer. I bring to this work my background in journalism, community work,
public service policy development, training and teaching.
I have a Masters in Guidance and Counselling and as a Provisional Teaching and Supervising member of the International Transactional Analysis Association, use Transactional Analysis as the basis of my work. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for people to explore themselves and develop more satisfying and fulfilling ways of living. I am flexible in the way I work and invite clients to identify their own goals.
I am comfortable working with a wide variety of people who face concerns from work, family, relationships or just being themselves. Areas of specialty are: relationships, couple work, depression, anxiety and stress management, trauma (including sexual abuse) and sexual issues.
I have many year of experience as a career counsellor and offer specialty services such as life/work planning and individualized career planning for people at all life stages. I can also assist with CV writing, job search strategies and interviewing skills.
I am a registered psychotherapist and a member of the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists, the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and the Career Development Association of New Zealand.
